It has been a minute since I blogged....over 2 years to be exact.  My last blog post was in October 2017.   It was from a beautiful wedding that I wanted to remember forever.  I had just delivered the gallery and was working on the album when I got a call that the groom has tragically passed away.  How could this be?  How could life be so unfair?  They had only just finally gotten married!  After the dust settled, and life started to go on as it always does, I tried to blog again.  I wanted to showcase my other weddings for my beautiful couples-I just couldn't. I couldn't write.  I would pick up my computer and was stuck, my mind would go completely blank.  So I took a break...."it will just be for a few months" I said,  "just until it feels right", "things will get easier soon".  But it didn't.  

Until now.

Today is January 2, 2020 and I am ready....are you ready for me? 

Today I am sitting in my studio (which is something that I have never thought would happen) planning my year out.  I am picturing all of the babies I will meet and children I will photograph here, brides and grooms I will meet with, and help fill their walls with memories- and could not be more happy or excited.  

In the last 2 years I have felt ridiculous amounts of  stress- having gone through an extensive structural home renovation (the least fun kind!) worried about where my business was headed, worried about my kids (I know mamas get me).  I have lived and witnessed loss, stress, fear, pain, and disappointment, but I have also witnessed hope, pride, MIRACLES, LOVE and new beginnings.

Every baby that comes in the studio is a fresh start.  A blank slate.  A new life.  

This year I want to meet all of the babies.

 Don't panic brides...I'm still here for you!! I will probably never give up weddings.....they are where my heart is. I truly love-love, and sharing your special day with you means so much to me. 

I have a few projects in the works for this year...Stay tuned, and I you are engaged or expecting....call, text, email, dm, smoke signal me-let's save the most special moments of your life together!

Now, I typically cry at least once at a wedding, but this wedding was different. I (and about everyone else) cried most of the day!!  It truly was an honor to be a part of this wedding.  I cried again while picking my sneaks, and I'm sure I will cry again while I finish the editing process.

When they forecast called for downpours at the exact time of the outdoor ceremony.  The bride and groom decided to push up the wedding, and even though it was threatening rain, it held off.  

When the bride is not worried about the weather, because she knows she will marry the love of her life come rain or shine.

When the couples beloved dog followed the bride down the aisle and then made himself comfy on the train of her dress.  

When there is not  a dry eye in the house during their vows.

When minutes after we finished up formals the skies opened up.

When the rain stopped just as they arrived at the reception venue, and we were able to hop outside and shoot some more.

Those are just a couple definitions of what I consider photographic magic, and they all happened for Kayla and Josh.

I think back on this particular first look and it makes me happy.

This was a cold, sunny but muddy day in April.  

Don't get me started on the wind.  

This was one of the only dry, shaded, not dirty places on all of Blue Mountain.  

It was magic.  As soon as T saw his bride, his smile outshone the sun.  

Can't wait to finish up their gallery!

When I met Cory at their engagment session it was clear they were perfect for each other. 

As Erin and I  drove to Carlisle for their wedding the sky was blue and the sun was shining.  The forecast was calling for rain, but I didn't believe it.  How could it rain?  About an hour before we were set to do the first look, the skies opened up.  Seriously.  No big deal, we just changed locations and everything went beautifully.  It continued to rain on and off for the rest of the day, but it didn't matter.  Nothing was going to put a damper on such a wonderful day.  Everything was gorgeous, the bride and groom, the dress, the guests, the decor, the venue, the kids!  I loved every minute.

It has been a very rainy spring here, and wedding season is getting into full swing!  I was very excited to shoot my first wedding of the season at the beautiful Blue Shamrock Golf Club. All week I was praying for no rain on Katie & Jared's big day. Lucky for me, the rain held off.....ALL DAY!! And an overcast sky became a beautiful sunset.   The gorgeous couple was a dream to photograph. It was a perfect day!  Katie and Jared thank you for letting us share your special day with you!!

When I met Samantha and Alex, I know I liked them instantly.  I was pumped when they decided to hire me for their wedding. 

When we started planning their engagement session, I knew I wanted to do something I'd never done before. 

So, we set off for the zoo. 

And I loved it.  Everything about it, the light, the fields, cowboy boots, the sunset we almost missed because we were too busy playing in the water.

Amazing. Chocolate peanut butter cake....heaven. 

Ok, Enough about food, and onto the love.  It was perfect.  High school sweethearts said I do, and NOTHING could make them not smile.  The mornings nerves, the heat and humidity, a closed park, a spontaneous rain storm, would break most.  Not these two.  Their smiles were continuous and infectious.  To see their happiness was humbling.  Here's to you two!! <3

Who knew a highlighter at a party would lead to your wedding day?   The minute I stepped into the bridal suite, I know this wedding was going to be unlike any other.  Every detail was unique and beautiful.  The dress, the teapots, the flowers, the cake topper, the bride and groom, all perfect together.  In front of your nearest and dearest, you vowed to love each other forever, and then had one of the best first kisses this girl has seen.

It was apparent the moment Rob saw his bride come down the aisle he was, in that moment , the luckiest man on earth.  Although it was very cold outside, we were all warmed by the love radiating from the two of them.  I can not thank them enough for allowing me to be a part of their day.

]]> (nicole lombardi photography) https://www.nicolelombardiphotography.com/blog/2014/10/mr-and-mrs-c Wed, 29 Oct 2014 13:49:12 GMT Mr. and Mrs. OD!! https://www.nicolelombardiphotography.com/blog/2014/10/mr-and-mrs-od Well, when I set out to shoot Kelli and Brandon.....I mean OD's wedding I had big expectations.  They lived up to every single one.  I could feel the love of friends and family as they got ready to walk down the aisle.  When the father of the bride saw his baby for the first time, the tears were unstoppable for all of us. The love was almost tangible as they said their vows.  Every single person had such love for these two people.  The groom began his day hunting.....(It was of course the first day of archery after all).   The bride began her day getting hair and makeup done, naturally.  When they finally met at the church you could tell, it was the best day of their lives.  The day did have one tiny slip up (or slide down), but thanks to an awesomely connected bridal party it was quickly corrected, and made for some very interesting memories.  There were many things I loved at Kelli and OD's wedding, but I'll share a few of my favorites.   I loved the Smore's bar.  Amazing.  I loved that it seemed like the entire party was on the dance floor for the entire reception.  But, my favorite is the way Kelli and Od dance, Od holds Kelli's hand and puts it behind her back.  The exact same way her parents dance.  Here's a small peek into their love filled day. <3
